8 Nigerian Creative Rockstars To Look Out For In 2019
Denola came onto the scene as a much-needed breath of fresh air when it comes to men’s style and fashion by sharing his own voyage of Fashion with his social media followers.
His enthusiasm for the art of fashion as well as how fashion has influenced him and boosted his confidence rapidly made him popular among young millennials and creatives in Nigeria.
Denola's adventure has transitioned from just sharing his love for fashion to television presenting and in the past year, he added acting to his resume. While his Instagram photos, fashion and poses are delightful visual works of art to observe, he has developed into being candid about his believes, convictions and outlook on society.
This multifaceted creative has not only expanded his horizons in the last couple of years but he’s starting to define his voice. The voice behind the creative brand, the voice that young millennial can identify with outside extraordinary Instagram feel and Avante Garde fashion.
In 2019, we expect that Denola would take more bold steps as a significant number of young creatives draw inspiration from him. Not just for the dapperness or men's style inspiration, however, for the dauntlessness it takes for one to be different, considered a misfit or one of their kind without losing the core of your identity as an individual and creating a sound line between humility and unobtrusiveness.
Hauwa is one of the most courageous individuals you'd ever meet or encounter. On the journey of persevering through her very own psychological well-being and challenges, Hauwa intuitively turned into a solid voice for Mental Health in Nigeria.
She began journaling her mental health experiences on SheWritesWoman and as time went on, she shared that of other Nigerian women who allowed her to tell their stories. This moved her to start the first mental health support group for women in Nigeria called, ‘SAFE PLACE’.
Throughout the years, Hauwa's endeavours towards mental health wellness conceptualized a 24 hours helpline which is operated in Lagos and receives calls from mental health survivors in Africa and around the globe.
Hauwa was one of the Queen's Young Leaders of 2018. Later in the year, she propelled the first mental health walk-in centre in Nigeria, 'SAFE PLACE' (situated in Ikeja, Lagos). Rewarding this milestone and Hauwa's hard work with mental health, SAFE PLACE was gifted a year lease free, by one of the foremost telecommunications organization in Africa.
What do we anticipate from Hauwa in 2019? MORE FEARLESSNESS! She is currently a mental health counsellor and life coach helping young Nigerians through their mental health journey.
